Visiting from Tokyo, I stayed with my daughter in Camberwell. As an experienced weightlifter, I was drawn to the gym in the basement. However, I forgot my age and started training too quickly with too much weight. The result? A very painful lower back that needed immediate attention.

Luckily, I found a nearby Camberwell physiotherapist, Solomon at Herne Hill. My goals were clear. First, I needed to get rid of the back pain so I could enjoy daily activities and sleep well. Second, I had to prepare for a big event. In just 10 days, I was traveling to West Sussex to ride a 1956 drop-handlebar racing motorcycle that could hit 70 miles per hour in first gear! So, my entire 77-year-old body had to be ready, not just my back.

After two sessions costing only £150, I got my normal life back. I was able to enjoy each day again and finally ride that classic single-seater racing motorcycle.

This experience reminded me that life is nothing without health and fitness.
